A folding rack fixed to the wall, with arms that open out in three sections when there is washing to dry and shut flat against the wall when there is not. Nothing stands in the middle of the room, and nothing has to be carried in and out of a cupboard.
It suits the places a floor-standing airer never really fits: a narrow utility room, a balcony wall, the space above a washing machine, a bathroom, a small flat without a dryer. Hanging clothes with air on both sides dries them faster and leaves fewer creases than draping them over a radiator.
Retractable, collapsible and out of the way between loads, which is the only way a drying rack ends up being used every week.
